UTF-8 Coding For Paypal
Overview
This is a guide on setting up UTF-8 Encoding on Paypal. This guide is meant for users who aren't receiving notifications for donations(on-screen, on the notifications tab, etc).
Note: If you are still not receiving notifications for donations after using guide, please contact support for further troubleshooting. The issue could be with Donation Notification Settings, CSS, etc.
Setup UTF-8 Encoding
1. Regular/Personal Paypal (This link may take you straight there if you are logged into paypal: Here )
- A. Login to Paypal
- B. Click on “Profile”
- C. Look for the “PayPal button language encoding” section under the My selling tools
- D. Click on “Paypal Button Language Encoding”
- E. Hit “More Options”
- F. Go to second option and select “No, use:” and Select UTF-8 in the drop down box.
- G. Hit Save/Okay/Apply at the bottom and you are set.
1B. Business Paypal (This link may take you straight there if you are logged into paypal: Here )
- A. Login to Paypal
- B. Click on “Profile and Settings”
- C. Click On “My Selling Tools”
- D. Scroll to bottom and click on “Paypal Button Language Encoding”
- E. On Language Encoding Page, hit “More Options”
- F. Set Encoding to UTF-8 (You do not need to set the second setting to UTF-8, but I do recommend it.)
- G. Hit Save/Okay/Apply at the bottom and you are set.
